One of the key findings of the report is that the first resource that comes to mind when people think about libraries is books. The report also confirms that most people continue to be unaware of the rich electronic content available to them at today's library. Alane will present on the institute further findings from the report and discuss some of the implications of changing user habits and expectations for library services.

Alane Wilson ?Senior Library Market Consultant, OCLC
Beginning at OCLC in 1997, Alane now serves as a senior library market consultant, working on special projects for the VP of Marketing and Library Services, Cathy De Rosa. After a brief time away from OCLC, she was recruited by OCLC's president and CEO, Jay Jordan, to return and work on the OCLC Environmental Scan which was released in January 2004. In addition to co-authoring and editing the Scan, she has written and contributed to other OCLC reports, including the most recent one, "Perceptions of Libraries and Information Resources." She speaks to many groups, facilitates workshops, and is one of three OCLC contributors to the "It's All Good" blog.
She holds a B.A. in English Literature and Classical Civilizations from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, and an MLIS, from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia.
