This presentation is a summary of the general issues surrounding digital asset management. James Simon of Sun Microsystems will provide a discussion of digital assets and explore the challenges and opportunities associated with digital asset management. He will also discuss what Sun has done with WGBH Boston and how Sun has created reference architecture for the broadcast industry.

James Simon ?Sun Microsystems

James Simon has worked at Sun Microsystems for more than 16 years, serving in various engineering roles and as an Internet architect for Sun Professional Services. Presently, Simon serves as Chief Technologist and Architect for the Global Education and Research Group. As Chief Architect, James has worked with WGBH Boston and Sun Professional Services to define scope and requirements for digital assets management. Additionally, he is the Sun representative to IMS Global Learning Consortium, Inc. James came to Sun from HP Computer Languages Lab and HP Labs. He has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry.
